38th Nepenthes species for Malaysia -
Nepenthes sharifah-hapsahii

This species is named after UKM vice Chancellor - Prof.Dato Dr Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hasan Shahabuddin. It was described in August 2001 by Dr Jumaat Hj Adam and Hafiza A.Hamid and after a long deliberation and discussion (6 years) Malaysia finally has her 38th Nepenthes species after it has been published in the International Journal of Botany 3(1): 71-77,2007

This species do resembles N.gracilis in its physical feature but can be differentiate through a few morphological characteristics such as the shape of the upper stem, lamina base, distribution of nectar glands on the lower lid surface, type of digestive glands on inner wall cavity of pitcher, peristome ribs and their pedicels.

Mail Order

We have started sending plants outside Malaysia with the relevant documents - Export license, CITES and Phytosanitary certificate. Please e-mail fauzi_4zeplant@yahoo.com for more details.

Plant sizes are according to the leaf diameter - leaf tip to leaf tip excluding tendril.
3 size categories:
S : between 2 - 3 inches (unless otherwise stated)
M : > 3 - 6 inches (unless otherwise stated)
L : > 6 - 12 inches (unless otherwise stated)
XL: > 12 - 15 inches (unless otherwise stated)

Weekend Sale

The stall at Subang Parade will be opened on Saturday from 11.00 am until 9.00 pm and Sunday from 11.00 am until 6.00 pm. Should you require any particular species or hybrid, you can e-mail or call me for plants to be brought to Subang Parade for collection.


Nursery

Visiting to the nursery will be on appointment only. Please contact 019-2720043 (Fauzi) to arrange for appointment. Nursery will be closed on every Saturday and Sunday.
